well I ain't never fallen in love
no I ain't never fallen in love
I jump into that shit headfirst with both eyes shut
we'll I ain't never had a love of my own
no I ain't never had a love of my own
that kind of thing ain't up for sale, it's just for temporary loan
don't let your nickels do the talking for your mouth
don't let your nickels do the talking for your mouth
'cause when the nickels roll, all the dollars come flying out
you bought her smokes for the night, now you're breathing up the doubt
you gotta separate the body from the mind
you gotta separate the body from the mind
well, good luck my friend, it's just a waste of time
'cause you know as well I it's all entwined
well I ain't never fallen in love
no I ain't never fallen in love
I tripped over your words and fell into your robes
we'll I ain't never had a love of my own
no I ain't never had a love of my own
she stopped by for a drink then she hit the god damn road
don't let your dollars do the talking for your mouth
don't let your dollars do the talking for your mouth
you may be surprised and what comes crawling out
you bought her body for the night, but your heart it still does pout
you gotta separate the body from the mind
you gotta separate the body from the mind
good luck, my friends, it's all a waste of time
'cause you know as well as I it's all entwined
well I ain't never fallen in love
no I ain't never fallen in love
well you pushed me in when I was on the phone
and you knew my baby's call was on hold
now I'm walking back home and the night it is so cold

church st. blues

you are the smoke and the fog and the steam
you are the lost dog in all of my drunken dreams
we are eating each other's bodies as we lay fast asleep
we are wayward love as we sleep on our feet
we are wayward lays as we leave later to meet
we are wayward plays as we act out our parts we wrote on the sheet
we are wayward bays as we drop our anchors into the sea
we are wayward days as night snorts the light away like lines of cocaine

it is a complete congruence
we fit together like the sun on the horizon
or the curve of the beach where the water sweeps the shore
like the way shadows fit in all the scarred and pimpled canyons of the moon
the way baby whales can swim gracefully under their mothers' guiding fins
or singers pitching their voices together in total precision to make a sound like soaring
that's the way we fit together: like science found in nature
perfectly calculated algorithms and parabolas that formulate intricately and result in the way we can lay exactly tangled beneath fur blankets and our obviously subtle hints
we drop them like atomic bombs
and I am so childish in slumber, it seems we sleep together
I caress meddling thoughts of the light
the way it makes condensed Mediterrannean seas in your eyes
it's all patterned and structured
the infinite behavior with which we collide
like atoms splitting
like erosions
and explosions of birthing blossoms
lightning striking sand
pollination
sun making freckles like constellations between your shoulder blades
sailors never knowing the proverbial shore
like faith in mankind or anything almost human
it defies god
it defies science and Led Zeppelin
it defies maternal extinct
it is parallelism and we fit together like two lines stretching infinitely in different directions never intersecting
and as I felt more blissful than any famous, beautiful beach would ever make me feel
I thought about the hours we slept inside our hollow vestibules
the nights endlessly navigating our ways through skeletal labyrinths
I knew we could only be so paralleled by our deep appreciation for the enflamed kinetic energy possessed by our mouths and lingering smiles
the crop circles of our providence have made their presence known
and the ferocious insensitivity of our time leaving little room for anything but parting
but soon winter will come to claim our acquaintance and I wish I could journey with you blindly
throttled cruelly towards the north
still withstanding is the fated circular tying
a manifestation of our roots
so when you're lonely, you can find me in the nature of all things

hey mr. man
05:15
|
|||
hey mr. money man
will you really do what you can
to save us from this mess you made?
hey mr. military man
will you really do what you can
to save us from your wars?
hey mr. diplomat man
will you really do what you can
do not be bought while keeping the peace?
hey mr. medicine man
will you really do what you can
do cure us of it all?
hey mr. preacher man
will you really do what you can
do be good?
hey mr. homeless man
will you really do what you can
to maintain sad balance?
hey mr. teacher man
will you really do what you can
to tell it like it is?
hey mr. newspaper man
will you really do what you can
to not lie or distract?
hey mr. artist man
will you really do what you can
to do anything at all?
hey mr. citizen man
will you really do what you can
to make change?

oh god, for goodness sake
oh man, your god is fake, well...
oh god, the man you've made
oh man, your god is what you make
oh god, for goodness sake
oh man, your gods are fake
oh gods, the men you've made
oh ladies, these gods are what you make

I woke up crazy
01:54
|
|||
I would adore you
I would adore you
I would adore you
I would adore you
I would've clothed you
I would've clothed you
I would've clothed you
all to undress you
I would've watched you starve yourself
I would've watched you starve yourself
all to nurse you back to health
will you have my babies?
will you have my babies?
will you have my babies?
will you be my baby again?
I woke up crazy
I woke up crazy
I woke up crazy
I will go to be insane

those greedy North American kings
who sit upon their thrones of bone
march across the global streets
bodies strewn about their feet
they'll send us all to war
they'll do what it takes
to take what you have
I'll see you when you're dead
don't tell me to die
because I haven't lived
it'd be a shame to die
because I never lived

rich poor man
03:20
|
|||
well, I knew a rich poor man from the town
and his lungs, they pumped stale air from your mouth
and when he smiled are all of your wedding flowers all fell out
and a garden grew so high from the mound of dirt beneath his feet
and no matter how hard he tried, he was stuck there forever
well, I know a rich poor man from the town
and his heart, it pumped pure gold for you
but the gold wasn't worth its weight in patience
no the gold was only worth its wait for his death
and now he's buried beneath the coins at your feet

someone's going to die tonight
someone's going to die
will it be you?
well, I don't know
will it be me?
well, I really don't know
will it be you?
I really hope it isn't you
someone's going to be born tonight
someone's going to be born

hey
people, they are right
and people, they are wrong
well, we all make it up
we make it up as we go along
you know we wrote these words, well
you know we planned this song, well
we all make it up
we make it up as we go along
